Departing from Aruba Airport
Aruba's airport has separate check-in areas for flights to the United States and for all other destinations. Knowing where to go saves time.
When to arrive

Airline check-in counters usually close 1 hour before departure.
Two check-in areas
- Flights to the United States depart from the US check-in hall, which includes the US Preclearance facility.
- Flights to all other destinations use the non-US check-in area.
Follow the signs as soon as you arrive, and check which area your airline uses. Because of the Gateway 2030 construction works, entrances and walking routes can change.
Entry time slots for US flights
To avoid crowding, the airport controls access to the US check-in hall. Staff at the doors let passengers in based on their departure time, no earlier than 3 hours before the flight. Current details are published on the official airport website.
Check-in and bag drop
- Check in online with your airline where possible.
- Self-service kiosks and bag-drop points are available for many flights.
- Aruba's airport uses biometric technology: your face can be used instead of showing your passport and boarding pass again at several steps.
- A baggage wrapping service is available in the check-in area.
Security
- Liquids in carry-on bags: containers of maximum 100 ml (3.4 oz) in one clear, resealable bag of 1 litre.
- Power banks and spare lithium batteries belong in your carry-on, not in checked baggage.
- Duty-free liquids bought after security are sealed in a special tamper-evident bag. Keep it closed until you reach your final destination.
Returning a rental car
Allow at least 30 extra minutes to return your car, especially with an off-airport company that brings you to the terminal by shuttle.
